He resided with his father and brother near Kensington, until May 19 when he enlisted in the Navy to serve his country. The body was sent to Akron, Colorado, where the father now resides, from Brooklyn, New York, on October 18th., and was then removed to the home of the father south of that place, where short funeral services were conducted by Rev. Springston of Akron. The body was laid to rest in the Elba Cemetery.

The sympathy of the many friends at this place is extended to the bereaved ones in their great sorrow.

America, my country, I answered thy call,
That freedom may live and tyrants may fall.
I owe thee my all, and my all I will give
I do and I die that America may live.
